Phoenix Feather is part of the Wizards Play Network (WPN), which allows us to host official Magic: The Gathering events supported by Wizards of the Coast.

Our focus is on building a welcoming community for both new and experienced players. That’s why we offer:

  • Magic Academy – a beginner-friendly program to teach you how to play
  • Prereleases – experience each new set before it officially releases
  • Draft & Sealed Events – fun Limited formats where everyone starts from scratch
  • Commander Nights – social, multiplayer Magic

What is WPN Organized Play?

The Wizards Play Network is a global program that connects players to their local game stores. By joining events at Phoenix Feather, you:

  • Receive exclusive promo cards only available at WPN stores
  • Play in official Magic formats
  • Meet other Magic players in your area and become part of a global community

Our MTG Events

1. Magic Academy (Beginner Program)

  • Learn the basics of Magic: rules, mechanics, deckbuilding
  • Play fun, guided games with support from staff and community mentors
  • Perfect for new and returning players

2. Prereleases

  • Be among the first to play with cards from the newest set
  • Build a 40-card deck using a prerelease kit
  • Play multiple Swiss rounds, keep all the cards you open

3. Draft & Sealed Events

  • Draft: Build a deck by picking cards one by one from shared booster packs
  • Sealed: Build from a pool of unopened booster packs
  • Great for testing your deckbuilding and strategy skills

4. Commander Nights

  • Bring a 100-card Commander deck and join casual multiplayer pods
  • Perfect for social players who enjoy longer, more relaxed games
  • Occasional achievements or special rules for extra fun

Structure & Rules

  • Matches: Best-of-3 games, 50-minute rounds (unless otherwise stated)
  • Pairings: Swiss system (everyone plays multiple rounds)
  • Commander events often use a league or casual pod system instead

Prizes

  • Participation promos for everyone
  • Booster packs, promos, or store credit for winners
  • Additional prize support during prereleases and drafts
